CEPA Connect Terms of Use

Welcome to CEPA Connect, the official community platform for Certified Exit Planning Advisors (CEPAs), operated by the Exit Planning Institute ("EPI," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the CEPA Connect platform, including the mobile application ("App") and website ("Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use CEPA Connect.

1. Eligibility

CEPA Connect is available exclusively to Credentialed Plus members of the Exit Planning Institute who are 18 years of age or older. By using CEPA Connect, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements. EPI reserves the right to terminate your access at any time if you no longer meet these requirements.

2. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify EPI immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. EPI is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

3. User-Generated Content

CEPA Connect allows members to post, share, and interact with content including text, images, and other media ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:

  • Grant EPI a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute your content within the platform
  • Represent that you own or have the rights to share the content
  • Agree that your content does not violate these Terms or any applicable law

4. Community Standards — Zero Tolerance Policy

CEPA Connect is a professional community. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post, share, or transmit any content that:

  • Is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive toward any person
  • Is sexually explicit, obscene, or pornographic
  • Promotes discrimination, hatred, or violence based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic
  • Constitutes spam, unsolicited advertising, or unauthorized commercial communications
  • Violates the privacy or intellectual property rights of others
  • Is false, misleading, or fraudulent
  • Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law

EPI reserves the right to remove any content that violates these standards and to suspend or terminate the accounts of users who engage in prohibited behavior, without notice.

5. Reporting and Blocking

CEPA Connect provides tools for members to report objectionable content and block abusive users. We encourage members to use these tools to help maintain a safe and professional environment. When content is reported, EPI will review it and take appropriate action, which may include removal of content and suspension or termination of the offending account.

6. Moderation

EPI reserves the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, edit, or remove any User Content at our sole discretion. EPI is not responsible for User Content posted by members.

7. Intellectual Property

All content provided by EPI on CEPA Connect, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of EPI and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from EPI content without prior written permission.

8. Privacy

Your use of CEPA Connect is also governed by EPI's Privacy Policy, available at https://exit-planning-institute.org/privacy-policy. By using CEPA Connect, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

CEPA Connect is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. EPI does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EPI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of CEPA Connect or any User Content posted on the platform.

11. Changes to These Terms

EPI reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify members of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the platform. Your continued use of CEPA Connect after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

EPI reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to CEPA Connect at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ohio.
