CEPA Connect Forum Guidelines
Welcome to CEPA Connect. To ensure a professional and productive environment for all participants, please review and follow the guidelines below.
Eligibility to Use CEPA Connect
Access to CEPA Connect is limited to individuals authorized by the Exit Planning Institute network, including:
- Current Certified Exit Planning Advisors (CEPA®) in good standing at the CEPA Plus membership level
- Exit Planning Institute (EPI) staff
- Other members of the EPI network who have been granted individual access by EPI
EPI reserves the right to approve, revoke access, edit or monitor content in its sole discretion.
Notices and Communications
By using CEPA Connect, you agree to receive notices and messages from EPI through the platform, our websites, applications, and the contact information associated with your account.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your contact information remains accurate and up to date. Failure to maintain current contact details may result in missed communications or important notices.
Sharing Content on the Platform
CEPA Connect allows users to share information and interact in a variety of ways, including through:
- Personal profiles
- Posts and comments
- Group discussions
- Shared links and resources
- Direct messages
Depending on the feature used and your chosen settings, content you share may be visible to other members, visitors, or approved individuals within the CEPA Connect community.
Where privacy settings are available, EPI will honor the visibility settings you select.
Content Ownership and Rights
You retain ownership of the original content you create and share on CEPA Connect. However, by posting content on the platform, you grant EPI a non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute that content on any platform and in any form.
All content shared on CEPA Connect is also subject to the CEPA Connect Privacy Policy.
By posting content, you confirm that:
- You have the legal right to share the material
- Your content does not violate the rights of others
- You have obtained any necessary permissions to disclose the information
Third-Party Content and Services
Members may occasionally reference or promote third-party products or services through CEPA Connect. These offerings are independent of EPI and EPI reserves the right to remove all references or promotions of third-party products or services in its sole discretion.
EPI is not responsible for the actions, products, services, or content of third-party providers shared through the platform. Unless specifically noted, EPI, its employees and agents, do not endorse any actions, products, services, or content which are referenced on the platform.
Account Limits and Enforcement
To protect the integrity of the CEPA Connect community, EPI reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the platform at any time for any reason.
Community Standards
What You Agree To Do
By participating in CEPA Connect, you agree to:
- Comply with these Guidelines and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to privacy laws, intellectual property laws, anti-spam regulations, export control laws, and other relevant legal requirements
- Provide accurate and truthful identity and contact information and keep it updated
- Use your real name on your profile
- Engage with other members in a professional and respectful manner
- Use CEPA Connect in ways consistent with its purpose of professional collaboration and education
What You Agree Not To Do
When using CEPA Connect, you agree not to:
- Create a false identity, impersonate another person, or create an account for anyone other than yourself.
- Share login credentials or attempt to access another user's account.
- Circumvent or override platform security features or access controls.
- Disclose confidential or proprietary information without proper authorization, including information belonging to your employer or other organizations.
- Violate the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, patents, trademarks, or trade secrets.
- Copy, distribute, or reuse another member’s content without their permission, except through the platform’s designated sharing features.
- Post or share content containing viruses, malicious software, or other harmful code.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract source code from the platform or related technologies that are not open source.
- Imply or state that you are affiliated with or endorsed by the Exit Planning Institute without express permission.
- Rent, lease, sell, resell, or otherwise monetize CEPA Connect data or platform access without EPI’s written consent.
- Use bots, scraping tools, or other automated methods to access the platform, collect information, or artificially drive engagement.
- Use CEPA Connect to engage in unlawful, misleading, discriminatory, fraudulent, or deceptive behavior.
- Violate any policies outlined in these Forum Guidelines or the EPI Privacy Policy.
- Post content which is unrelated to EPI’s purpose.
- Post inflammatory or disruptive material.
Policy Updates
The Exit Planning Institute may update these Forum Guidelines or related policies from time to time. We encourage users to periodically review this page to stay informed of any updates.
Report Concerns; Disclaimer
Members are encouraged to report inappropriate or abusive behavior or content. Content posted by Members reflects the viewpoint of the Member that posts it and does not constitute the opinion or advice of EPI, or its employees or agents.
